Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of FixMyTone. By installing the extension, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. We've kept them in plain English — please read them, because they explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

01The short version

FixMyTone rewrites text you highlight using AI. Use it for your own writing, don't abuse it, and remember that AI output isn't perfect — always read a rewrite before you send it. Free and Pro plans have daily limits. Pro is a recurring subscription billed through Stripe that you can cancel anytime. The service is provided "as is".

02What FixMyTone is

FixMyTone is a Chrome extension and accompanying website that let you select text on a webpage and have it rewritten in a different tone (polished, friendly, formal, concise, sincere, or a custom style) using a third-party AI model. The rewritten text is returned to you to use as you see fit. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use FixMyTone. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide at sign-in is accurate. If you use FixMyTone on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for it.

04Your account

• Sign-in — You sign in with Google OAuth. You're responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure; anyone who can sign in as you can use your FixMyTone account.
• One person, one account — Accounts are for individual use. Don't share, sell, or transfer your account.
• Accurate use — Don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity when signing in.

05Acceptable use

When using FixMyTone, you agree not to:

• Submit content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, or that violates anyone's rights or privacy.
• Use the service to generate spam, malware, deceptive content, or anything intended to harm others.
• Attempt to bypass, reset, or game usage limits — for example by cycling accounts or devices to dodge the free-tier daily cap.
• Probe, attack, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, or attempt to extract its underlying prompts or systems.
• Use automated means to access the API outside the official extension, or resell access to the service.
• Submit other people's personal or confidential data that you don't have the right to process.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice.

06AI-generated content

• You provide the input. You're responsible for the text you submit and for ensuring you have the right to submit it.
• Output isn't guaranteed. Rewrites are produced by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or change your intended meaning. Always review a rewrite before relying on or sending it.
• It's your text. As between you and us, you keep whatever rights you had in the text you submit, and you're free to use the rewritten output.
• No professional advice. FixMyTone is a writing tool, not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

07Plans and usage limits

• Free plan — Includes a daily usage allowance, measured in tokens, that resets each day (at midnight Singapore time, UTC+8).
• Pro plan — A paid subscription with a higher daily allowance. Current prices and limits are shown on our pricing section and may change with notice.
• Fair use — Limits exist to keep the service sustainable. We may adjust limits, or apply rate limits and anti-abuse measures, to protect the service.

08Billing and payments

• Payment processor — Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details.
• Recurring subscription — Pro renews automatically each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. Prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless stated otherwise, and may exclude taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.
• Price changes — We'll give reasonable notice before any change to your recurring price takes effect.

09Cancellation and refunds

• Cancel anytime — You can cancel Pro from your account page (which opens the Stripe customer portal). When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for; it won't renew after that.
• Refunds — Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law. If something went wrong, email us — we'll deal with it fairly.

10Intellectual property

FixMyTone — including the extension, website, branding, and underlying software — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't grant you any rights in our brand or software beyond the right to use the service as intended. You retain your rights in the text you submit and the output you receive, as described in section 06.

11Third-party services

FixMyTone relies on third parties to operate — including Google (sign-in), OpenRouter (the AI rewriting provider), Stripe (payments), and Supabase and Vercel (hosting and data). Your use of those services through FixMyTone is also subject to their terms. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

12Disclaimers

FixMyTone is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations. You use it at your own discretion and risk.

13Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FixMyTone and its operator won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

14Termination

You can stop using FixMyTone at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll do our best to notify users. Continuing to use FixMyTone after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of FixMyTone, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
