FixMyTone is a Chrome extension that rewrites the text you highlight on any webpage. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it — in plain English, no legal wall of text.
01The short version
We only collect what we need to run the service: your Google sign-in details, the text you ask us to rewrite, and how much you've used today. We don't sell your data. We don't store your text long-term. You can delete your account by emailing us.
02Information we collect
- Google account info — Your name, email, and profile picture, collected when you sign in via Google OAuth. We use this to identify your account.
- Text you submit for rewriting — Processed in real time to generate the rewritten version. Briefly logged for debugging, then automatically deleted. Not used to train models.
- Usage data — A running count of tokens you've used today, so we can enforce the Free and Pro daily limits.
- Payment info (Pro only) — Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card details — we only store a Stripe customer ID to look up your subscription.
03How we use it
- To sign you in via Google OAuth.
- To process the text you send for rewriting and return the result.
- To track your daily usage against the limits on your plan.
- To manage your Pro subscription through Stripe.
- To debug issues and improve the service.
04Where your data lives
- Account data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the Singapore region.
- The website and API run on Vercel.
- Text submissions are logged briefly for debugging and then automatically deleted. They are never sold or shared.
- We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.
05Third-party services
FixMyTone uses a handful of trusted services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google OAuth — for sign-in. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenRouter (Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite) — performs the text rewriting. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — processes Pro payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — stores your account data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — hosts the site and API. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
06Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email hello@fixmytone.com and we'll get back to you.
- Singapore users — You have rights under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
- EU and UK users — You have rights under the GDPR, including the right to erasure and data portability.
- Want to delete your account? Email hello@fixmytone.com and we'll remove your account and all associated data.
07Cookies
We don't use tracking cookies. Google OAuth may set its own cookies as part of the sign-in flow — those are covered by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
08Children's privacy
FixMyTone isn't intended for users under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
09Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we'll do our best to notify users directly.
